The French Competition Authority accepts Google’s commitments

L’Competition Authority indicates to accept the commitments of Google providing a framework for negotiation and sharing of information necessary for a transparent evolution of the remuneration of neighboring rights and makes these commitments mandatory.

The organization thus closes the proceedings opened in November 2019 by the SEPM, the APIG and the AFP, which denounced the practices implemented by Google following the adoption of law n 2019-775 of July 24, 2019 tending to create a neighboring right for the benefit of news agencies and publishers.
