Sonos would be working on a homemade Siri (Apple Music compatible)

Apparently, Sonos was working on its own voice assistant, which would compete with Siri, Google Assistant or even Alexa. This will allow users of the brand’s products to read and control the reading of their content (Hi Sonos!). For questions of privacyactivation and voice recognition will be done directly on the compatible device and audio commands will not go through the cloud to be processed.

The Sonos Voice feature is expected to launch on June 1 in the US, before rolling out to the rest of the world. According to The edge, Sonos Voice should be able to be used with many platforms, starting with Apple Music. We will also count on Pandora and Deezer, but nothing for Spotify and YouTube Music.

As a reminder, Sonos speakers are already compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, but do not support Siri. However, a limited number of Apple Assistant voice commands can be used with AirPlay 2 compatible products.
