The Haute-Garonne Cancer League is organizing the second edition of its prevention program “On your marks, eat, move!” “. For three weeks, registrants benefit from a free program to take care of their body and their health.

After a remarkable first edition in 2021 (one thousand registered), the operation “On your marks, eat, move!” is back from May 9th. The Haute-Garonne Cancer League hopes to once again transmit its prevention messages. “It has been proven that 40% of cancers could disappear by adopting good habits of physical activity, nutrition and by avoiding the consumption of tobacco and alcohol”, summarizes Stanislas Lanoë, project manager for sports events at the Ligue contre Haute-Garonne cancer.

For three weeks, participants in the program turned out free videos offering muscle building, pilates, yoga, cross training or zumba. “The idea is that everyone can participate, alone, with family or friends, at home or outside, without the need to invest in equipment for sessions of around twenty minutes, whatever their age. or his level. It’s an opportunity to try and it’s always a good time to adopt good practices and good reflexes to stay in shape, the period of confinement of the covid has shown it well”, completes Stanislas Lanoe. To motivate the participants, the teams of the Haute-Garonne League against cancer will multiply the interactions on social networks. Meditation sessions, cooking recipes are also integrated into the program and will remain for a few months. On the prevention side, various advice concerning sleep, tobacco, the sun, food, screens and physical activity will be offered.

The intervention of partners of the League against cancer (dietician, sports coach, sophrologist) in this program is also an opportunity to publicize the necessary actions throughout the year with patients suffering from cancer, in particular for supportive care.
