In search of a major reinforcement in the midfield during this transfer window, the sports adviser of Paris Saint-Germain, Luis Campos, has rig Vitinha (Porto) in priority. This file is progressing very quickly and an agreement has already been signed with the Portuguese.
Vitinha is getting seriously closer to PSG!
Paris Saint-Germain is on all fronts at the start of the transfer window! While the sacking of coach Mauricio Pochettino and his likely replacement by Christophe Galtier is not in the works, the latest rumors led to Italy.
Present in Rome, the sports adviser of the capital club, Luis Campos, would indeed have almost completed the arrivals of central defender Milan Skriniar (Inter Milan) and striker Gianluca Scamacca (Sassuolo).
A status of Best player
And yet, this Friday evening, all eyes are now on… Portugal! A few hours ago, the newspaper A Bola indeed mentioned an interest from PSG for the midfielder of FC Porto, Vitinha (22 years old). And this file has even gone far beyond the simple stage of interest! According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, a transfer window specialist, the Portuguese international is Campos’ priority to strengthen the midfield, one of the big projects of the summer.
Returning from an inconclusive Wolverhampton loan in 2020-2021 (only 5 starts in the Premier League), the native of Santo Tirso has changed in dimension this season and won his starting stripes with his training club (47 games, 4 goals and 5 decisive passes in all competitions) to the point of being called up for selection (3 caps). Technical, able to project himself and very prominent since the selections of young people and finalist of the Euro in U19 and Espoirs, the Lusitanian is considered as a Best player both for the present and the future by Campos, with a renowned flair.
A settlement of €40 million?
Still according to Romano, PSG has even already reached an agreement on the outlines of a future contract with the small size (1m72). From now on, the two curies are negotiating and the champion of France will have to be persuasive against President Pinto Da Costa, reputed to be tough in business and who has just sold another midfielder, Fabio Vieira, Arsenal this Friday for 40 million euros (bonus understood). He expects the same amount, which corresponds to his release clause, for Vitinha.
We received a concrete offer of a considerable amount for Vitinha which we did not accept, we rely on its release clause. (…) If someone comes with one euro less than the clause, the player does not leave, assures the leader on Wednesday. The PSG is planned but seems particularly determined in this file which could well be completed at the fixed price by the Dragons. The final details remain defined but Romano, O Jogo and RMC Sport are all talking tonight about a business that is on the right track…
