We know it: holding a place of restoration is not always obvious. Finding themselves at a crossroads in their lives, some people sometimes need a little help. This Wednesday on M6, this is a first that we have witnessed in Kitchen nightmare. While it is usually the restaurant owners who ask the chef Philippe Etchebest to come and help them get out of their difficulties, this week, it was a little boy who took the step to help his father. At 12, little Gabriel was so distraught to see his father giving himself trouble in his restaurant in Loire-Atlantique that he took the initiative and contacted the M6 broadcast. A request that moved Philippe Etchebest.
“Dad smiles less”
Gabriel’s father is Raphaël, 48 years old. Jovial in appearance, he is the manager of a working-class establishment which was a hit when it opened but is now encountering difficulties. The man does not pay himself a salary, is in debt and no longer manages to run his restaurant. A fact observed by the child: “Before it worked well, dad did a lot of cutlery. Now he does a lot less. Since the restaurant no longer works, I find that dad is less happy than before. He smiles less. We used to go play but now we don’t do anything. On weekends we stay at home, we do nothing. I would like to find it as it was before”he explained in front of the chef before specifying in front of the camera.
“It touches me even more”
“My father is demoralized. It’s not cool to see your father sad. When I see him sad like that, it makes me sad. I want daddy to be happy“, a late child. The Meilleur Ouvrier de France felt concerned by the sadness reported by Gabriel: “Often there are stories that affect the family but I think it’s the first time that a child has asked me to come. So it touches me even more”, he attributed while promising to do his best to help him. And he wasn’t the only one touched by the little boy’s words. On Twitter, Internet viewers of M6 felt the same emotion in the face of this little boy ready to do anything to help his father. “Too adorable”, “Gabriel is serious cabbage and mature“, “Unbelievable, touching and beautiful“they wrote in particular.
