Good start for the French rugby 7s teams in Toulouse. Both girls and boys won their first two group matches this Friday at the Ernest-Wallon stadium.
After dominating Brazil in the morning (24-7), Les Bleues largely beat England at the start of the evening (33-7). The speed of Lou Noel and Joanna Grisez, each author of a double, particularly impressed. David Courteix’s players will face Ireland on Saturday morning (11:20 a.m.), in the last game to secure their first place in Group C.
14 tries in two games for the Blues
For their part, the Blues also fulfilled their mission by winning their first two meetings. After the slap lost to the Welsh (56-5), they were able to get by against eye-catching Kenyans and in front at the break. Joachim Trouabal (3 tries) and Aaron Grandidier were the main players in an ultimately wide success (38-14).
The French will face Fiji, also undefeated, in the last match of the group stage on Saturday afternoon (2:34 p.m.), just before the start of the final phase.
