AppleTV+ a catalog of content extremely enriched since the beginning of the year, with in addition a few programs which have succeeded in making the events (Severance, Planète Pré historique). These efforts in terms of exclusive productions also coincided with the Oscar for best film for CODA, all of which have made Apple’s service a little more popular.
The British company BARB confirms this new enthusiasm: in the first quarter of 2022, Apple TV+ was available in 1.57 million British households, which corresponds to a 27% growth in subscriptions to the service. Disney+ would have recorded the second biggest growth over the period.
Despite this big boost, Apple TV+ was still lagging behind its competitors: Disney+ would thus be available in 6.53 million households (+19%), Amazon Prime Video would reach 13.25 million British households (+6%) , and Netflix would dominate the market with a market share of 17.29 million households (+3%). Note that Paramount + is available in the United Kingdom since June 21.
