The iPhone 14s will soon go into production. Weeks ahead of schedule, Apple would soon launch mass production of its next high-end smartphones.
The development of the iPhone 14 is making great strides. In February, Apple validated the design of its new range of smartphones on schedule. A few months later, the Cupertino giant stopped on the final technical sheet of the iPhone after a first production test. This testing phase helped determine whether manufacturers are able to produce iPhones while meeting Apple’s high quality requirements.
In this context, Apple is gradually approaching mass production. As a rule, the group starts mass production at the beginning of summer. This year, Apple would have gotten ahead of its schedule. According to information from Chinese media United Daily News, Apple has asked Foxconn, one of its partners, to start recruiting workers to assemble the iPhone 14s.
Apple is rushing mass production of the iPhone 14
At the start of the week, Foxconn therefore launched a major recruitment campaign for its Zhengzhou plant. The company offers 30% bonuses to attract more workers. The firm is looking to recruit workers as a matter of urgency. Still, it’s usually a slow season for iPhone production.
Apple would obviously have decided to rush things. The Californian brand fears that the Chinese government will decree new containment measures against Covid-19, which may slow down the production of its iPhones. For the record, several Chinese factories, in Shanghai and Kunshan, were closed for several days in March. These strict confinements slowed iPhone production for a time. Under these conditions, Apple would seek to get ahead in the event of subsequent problems.
The recruitments announced by Foxconn were also prompted by the monster success of the iPhone 13. As Apple announced in its financial results, the latest flagships in its catalog are selling like hot cakes despite the shortage of computer chips.
If all goes as planned, Apple should present the range of iPhone 14 from September 2022. Like last year, the brand would decline the range in 4 models.
